A vigorous tree, 20–25 m tall and 12–15 (–18) m wide, with a loose, broad, upright crown that takes on a broad, ovoid shape with age. It resembles the crown of Robinia pseudoacacia but is more uniform and has straighter branches. This variety has few thorns.
