Broussonetia papyrifera

In its native Asia, it is a fast-growing tree reaching up to 15 m in height. In our latitudes, it usually grows as a multi-stemmed shrub, reaching a height of 5–7 m and a width of 4–5 (–6) m. Thick, upright, arching, gray-red branches form a broad oval to rounded, loose, somewhat irregular habit. A good shade tree. The fibers were formerly used for paper production.
