Betula albosinensis

In its native habitat, the mountains of western China, this birch species grows to over 20 m; here, it usually reaches only 8 m in height and 4–6 m in width. This graceful tree has a loose crown with many thin, overhanging, reddish-brown branches. The bark is white-orange in color and begins to peel off even at a young age.
